The elusive sound of tape

There's nothing quite like a real analog synth through real hardware fx and crushed to real tape. But often when I want that sound in a typical session it completely kills the flow to go digging for patch cables, and cleaning oxide buildup off dusty old tape heads, and troubleshooting a cranky 40-yr-old synth that suddenly decides it needs some maintenance.

Capturing the magic

By painstakingly sampling some of my favorite patches from my favorite synths, through my favorite pedals, and laying it all down on VHS, cassette, and reel-to-reel, this instrument exudes character and warmth like no mere emulation.
