Have a question for me?
Where's my serial number?
Serial numbers are automatically emailed to the address you provided upon purchase. If you don't immediately see it check your spam folder. If you still can't find it please email me at kael@kaelalden.com and we'll find out what went wrong.
Why won't Vibe Rewind work with an older Mac OS?
Almost all of the effects in the FX section of Vibe Rewind were introduced in Kontakt 7. When attempting to port it to Kontakt 6 (or any older version of Kontakt that still worked on Mac OS 10.15) too many sacrifices had to be made, and the entire heart and soul of the instrument had to be gutted.
Ultimately it just doesn't work. Please don't ask me for a workaround, or "backdoor" installer file. It just can't be done.
I bought Vibe Rewind, but now I realize my system is not compatible. Now what?
Unfortunately, serial numbers cannot be recalled once they are dispensed. And every time a purchase is made I've already pre-paid NI a license fee for that serial number.
Bottom line, it's yours to keep forever and I can't take it back! PLEASE CHECK THE SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS BEFORE YOU PURCHASE! I cannot offer refunds if it is not compatible with your current computer setup.
The good news; serial numbers never expire! Eventually you'll have to ditch that trusty old 2009 Mac Pro that's barely hanging on by a thread! When that day comes, pop your serial number into Native Access 2 and you're on your way to using that synth you were once so excited to try!
Why Kontakt? Why not a standalone plugin?
Aside from the fact that Kontakt has been an industry staple for decades, it was also the most logical choice for this type of Instrument. From the beginning I knew Vibe Rewind would not be based on any digital synthesis techniques, like most other synth plugins out there. That was not the goal here at all! I wanted REAL ANALOG sampled to REAL TAPE! The only way to do that was to use a comprehensive sampling engine, like Kontakt. I considered other platforms, like Decent Sampler for one, but ultimately they didn't offer the wealth of built-in effects, complex modulation, and scripting tools like Kontakt.
Also, as a one-man operation I could not even fathom trying to re-invent all the DSP algorithms for the reverbs, delays, etc... and all the playback engine stuff required to make it a standalone plugin. We're talking about MILLIONS of lines of code!
Bottom line: Making it standalone would be an enormous waste of energy, and would be impossible without a team of developers working for ages to build what NI has already made available for free in Kontakt Player.
